The ultra-influential California wine critic James Suckling, with the collaboration of his son Jack, and of Stuart Pigott and Nick Stock, traveled thousands and thousands of kilometers on four continents and in two hemispheres to taste and select, on site, the wines for their select and much sought-after club of the world’s best 100 wines.
Berlucchi Palazzo Lana Satèn 2008 and Berlucchi Franciacorta ’61 Brut were each awarded 92 points, while Berlucchi Franciacorta ’61 Rosé and Berlucchi Franciacorta ’61 each received 91.
Autumn, then, continues to bring with it a striking harvest of awards and accolades for Berlucchi’s Franciacortas. In October, the Guida Oro I Vini di Veronelli 2018 gave its coveted Super Three Stars to Berlucchi ’61 Nature 2010, and the month before that, The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championship of London acclaimed Berlucchi Franciacorta ’61 Brut and Satèn in magnum, by awarded them the Gold Medal. That same competition judged Berlucchi NV Satèn ’61 “Best of Class” in the Best Franciacorta Magnum and Best Franciacorta NV Blanc de Blancs categories, while Berlucchi NV Brut ’61 was awarded Best in Class in the Franciacorta NV Brut Blend category.
